Annual Report 2022

Vleuten, 1-4-2023

Dear friends and sponsors of the HNGF,

We would like to inform you about the past year in this ANNUAL OVERVIEW 2022.
First of all, we would like to thank our loyal regular donors very much for
their periodic contributions with which we can finance the HNGF activities!
In 2022 we again received some (large) donations from Hans Gerritsen
Ben Ferwerda, Ursula Heine and Jaap Brugman.
Thank you all very much again!!

Progress projects:

Fortunately, we seem to be entering a different phase in the Corona pandemic.
We are assuming that we can travel to India again in December. The trip to India
has always been of great importance. It helps to keep a finger on the
pulse of the projects we support.
The direct personal contact with the contact persons is important for
proper evaluation of the projects. In addition, clear agreements can be made
about the destination of the donations.
We hope to be able to speak again in Bodhgaya with the contact persons of the
monk monastery in Mainpat and of the nunnery in Rumtek.

Monk Monastery in Mainpat

Last year we were able to keep in touch with the monastery in Mainpat.
As we reported earlier, the young monks of H.E. Beru Khyentse Rinpoche,
reside permanently in Mainpat (India).
With your support, a classroom has been set up earlier, and in addition the
construction of a school building and a kitchen house . They told us that
the Boudhanath monastery in Nepal, which was completely destroyed
in the 2015 earthquake, has been rebuilt. We received the request to make
a donation for medical costs incurred for the boys who are now staying there.
We have complied with this request.

Nunnery in Rumtek

Fortunately, we have always been able to stay in touch with Ani
Tsultrim, our contact person. We donated the annual salary for the teacher
English and Mathematics they have hire since September 2022. We are
happy that they have taken this step and that the education of the girls and
young women in the convent is being shaped more and more seriously. We
hope to meet again in December 2023.

Girls’ school in Soreng

Since 2018 we have been in contact with the School in the Sky foundation which
aims at building a school for girls and young women. We mentioned before that
last year there has been a change in the board and that we do not yet have a new
contact person. This is the case to date, We have therefore decided to withdraw
from this project. We may be able to reconnect in India with this project. We will
keep you informed.

Poverty alleviation in Sikkim

It has now become clear that Claudia Butnik has retired. She has meant a
lot to the 20 children in her care in Sikkim. We are happy that we have been
able to support her for a number of years.
It was exactly the kind of project that the HNGF would like to commit itself to.

We would like to thank you again very much for your involvement and
generosity!
We will continue to make a difference together in 2023-2024!

With kind regards,
Mirjam Bezemer, Ursula Heine and Hans Gerritsen

Annual Report 2021

Vleuten, 23-4-2022
Dear HNGF friends and sponsors,

In this ANNUAL REPORT 2021, we would like to inform you about HNGF’s last
year’s activities.

Progres projects:
Due to the continuation of the corona crisis in 2021, we could again not travel to
India in December. This journey has always been of great importance and serves
to keep track of the projects we support. The direct personal interaction with the
contact persons has continuously helped us to evaluate the projects. In addition
these personal contacts were used to come to an agreement about the spending
of the HNGF donations. The absence of these face-to-face contacts put many of
our projects on hold.

Mainpat
We were able to stay in touch with the monastery in Mainpat.
Many of the young monks of H.E. Beru Khyentse Rinpoche, permanently stay
in Mainpat (India). Thangs to your support HNGF previously helped to furnish a
classroom and finish the construction of the school building. Last year we
supported the construction of a new kitchen house.

Rumtek
We stayed in touch with some of the other contacts, but less frequently. In
particular, we had contact with Ani Tsultrim, our Rumtek contact person. We hope
to meet her again in December 2022.

Soreng
Since 2018 we had contact with the School in the Sky Foundation, which aims at
setting up a school for girls and young women (more information can be found on
our website). Due to a change in the board of this foundation, there is at present
no contact person.
As soon as we have a new contact and there are new developments we will let
you know!

We would like to thank you again for your involvement and kind donations! We
will continue our activities in 2022- 2023 and try to make a difference.

With warm regards,
Mirjam Bezemer, Ursula Heine and Hans Gerritsen
